The PeddiSubX-1120 is Peddinghaus's fastest beam drill line, using Sub-X spindle travel so each of its three 25 HP Siemens drilling axes covers a 19-11/16 inch (500 mm) operating zone and works independently. Every axis has a 6-station automatic tool changer and can drill, mill copes, rat holes, slots and flange thins, tap, countersink, carbide scribe and plasma ArcWrite, with layout marking on all four sides of the profile at once. Peddinghaus quotes cope mill-outs in about 90 seconds. Material from 3/4 x 3 inch up to 18 x 44 inch is handled, with a 14-point clamping system to control vibration during carbide milling. Roller Feed measurement, a Siemens-based control, Raptor 3D CAD/CAM software and MultMaster remnant handling complete the package, and the line pairs with Peddinghaus band saws.
